Marriage Protection Week sucks ^%#(

I originally said that I wouldn't be blogging this week in mourning for what others were trying to make us into with this insidious "Marriage Protection Week". My day started out badly, well, ever since I made that post.

I've been moping around the house, went out to breakfast, went to see a movie, but I wasn't really there. I was down and depressed about what some assholes are trying to do with this bullshit Marriage Protection Week.

I've decided I'm going to blog this week. I'm not going to let those bastards win and get the better of me. I got sad, down, but now I'm just plain old pissed off. They can take the Marriage Protection Week and shove it where the sun don't shine. Or, perhaps more articulately, FUCK THEM AND THE HORSE THEY RODE IN ON!

ok... I feel better now! Now I'm off to pick out my pictures for my custom-made calendar that I'm giving people for Christmas, with 13 of my favorite photos I've taken. They won't be good stocking stuffers, but everything I give people is too big to fit into a stocking anyway!

Thanks for your kind comments Michelle. You are right, we can't let 'em get us down. It's important to realize that we have many friends. It's only a small majority I beleave that are the most vocal against us.

On the calendar... I take my own photos. It's a hobby of mine. They come down to my computer from my digital camera and are saved as a .JPG file on my computer. Around my home, I have surrounded myself with photos of our friends and people we consider to be part of our family.

I take my favorite photos to have printed and send them off to Ofoto.com (http://www.ofoto.com). I upload the photos to their website and you can then order what you want. Less than a week later, you will get your prints in the mail. They use Kodak processing and the quality is great.

They also have this new calendar thing that allows you to upload your photos you want as before, but instead of making prints of them, you select that you want a calendar. You select the calendar style you want, and then then place your pictures in each month. You can add an optional caption. You can also select what month you want your calendar to start in.

Once you are done, you can select who you want them sent to if you want them sent directly to the recipients.

I think it's a cool gift and doesn't cost that much. I think they are around $12.00 but it's customized with your photos. Pretty cool.

Hi Bill,

Glad to see that you aren't letting everything keep you feeling down. It is hard, and some days are really hard, especially when it feels like negativity is coming at you from all sides. It cheered me up to look at some information about Marriage Equality Week, sponsored by MCC. It may not be National, or recognized by the president, but it is an attempt to turn the prejudice and masked bigotry around on the Right wing.

On another note: I have always wanted to make a personalized calender, are you doing it on your computer or taking it somewhere to be made? Have fun looking for pictures.

Peace,
Michelle
