So much for spring

| | Comments (6)

It's ironic that spring is just a few days away, and we have all of this stuff suddenly on the ground. The same day that the storm hit, the spring wildflower seed arrived. I had planned on putting it out this weekend. This is from the first storm. Now they are saying that we are going to get another 5"-7" tomorrow.

I'm tired of winter! Here are a couple of pictures I took this morning. The first is from my front porch. The second is our back yard. It's hard to believe it's March 18th!

LOL @ over the rainbow theme! You do have a lovely place though!

Jon - I'm envious of you! I'm so tired of this white stuff. As I type this, it's still snowing here.

Will - thank you for the compliment on our place. It's really out in the boonies with the farmers, but our community is very supportive. In spring and summer, it's very nice, although with all the wild flowers I plant around the place, it really does look like a gay home (kind of an "over the rainbow" theme, I suppose). :-)

I can remember about 12 years ago having a big snow/ice storm all the way down here in the south as late as March 22. We were supposed to do a living history event in Greensboro, NC at Guilford Courthouse NMP. It started snowing around noon on Friday and there were lots of phone calls back and forth... were we going, not going, wait and see? Finally, one of our members called from Atlanta and said they had massive snow coming down and it was headed north. We ended up with about 12" here and something like 15" where we were going!

Pretty much the same here. It was a heck of a storm that came through - and to think a few weeks ago it was almost 70 degrees! Here's hoping it melts real fast!

How gorgeous! Here in California we've been having.. yup you guessed it.. sun! It's been in the high 70's low 80's the last 2 weeks. Glad to hear you guys got back home safely!

Ah, how quickly we all forget. We've had snow in the Boston area as late as early May and one particularly nasty ice storm on April 1 about a dozen years ago that left my neighborhood without power for four days and the town of Wellesley without power for a week!

Hey, you guys have a lovely piece of property!
