My neighbors

| | Comments (5)

Well, I know that I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. And I know that I shouldn’t let my imagination run wild with me.

But tonight I received my neighbors mail in my mail box. You remember my neighbor? He’s the one who, when I went over to his yard with a bottle of wine to welcome him to the neighborhood, pulled his children in behind him as if he were protecting them from a child molester? Yeah, that neighbor.

Well we haven’t talked since. He gave me the creeps. His kids say hi to me occasionally, but that’s it. Today in my mailbox was a catalog addressed to him from Majesty Bibles and Books.

I guess that’s why he can’t stand us. I just remember something Mom said to me once. “You can’t make people more than what they are.” It’s sad, but true.

i guess my neighbor went into a shell years ago and stopped talking to his family for what ever reason,he has never been married but he is just a very strange man, maybe some people need to have a shell to crawl into away from the world,i was taught if you do a good deed it will come back to you but in this case it didnt,i was taught a lesson, saying hello across a yard is better than being face to face with a bigot.

Tony,

That's terrible!

You know, I've come to the conclusion in life (recently) that people have to EARN my trust. I've decided that it's better to not trust people to avoid being hurt, let down, deceived, or baited into a friendship that isn't real.

My neighbor, for example... I will have no more to do with him. I don't honestly care if he lives or dies, as long as he stays out of my hair. He's no long on my radar screen.

It's too bad that things have to be that way, but I'm sick and tired of all the creeps that are out there.

As for your neighbor, it looks to me that he was just looking for an excuse to use against you. In this case, your kindness. Just remember, people who are like that have a lot more problems in life than just this. They are miserable people. I bet that if you were to look at his life, he probably has no relations with his kids, is probably on his fourth divorce, speaks to no one, etc.

Just be yourself. The people who MATTER will like you for who you are. The rest are trash. That's my new take on people.

I wanted to give you an update on my neighbor that i gave seeds to plant, well it turned out he does not like gays or anyone for that matter,he told my neighbors that i was flirting with him and all gays deserve what they get,i was out watering my flowers today and he screamed across at me and told me never to come on his lawn again,i yelled back at him and told him to do the same,i tried to be a good neighbor and it didnt work, now i have to worry if i will be attacked by this bigot,i dont understand how a person can judge me and not even know me,but life goes on.
