My view of the world is that it's going to hell in a hand basket. I've gotten to a point where I want to tell these countries, "Fine... you want to blow the hell out of each other, go for it...". I say this because it seems to be their intention to just hate each other. Who the countries are depends on the time period you are talking about, but basically, someone is always at war with someone else.
I'm extremely concerned that Israel is conducting this kind of warfare, seemingly without regard to civilians being killed. Last night on the news, they defended that by saying, "...but this is what happens when terrorists hide among civilians using them as 'human shields'...". In other words, Israel has decided that these innocent civilians are to be termed "collateral damage" (shit happens) and that's the end of that.
There was a time when the existence of Israel was very much in question (in the Nixon era, for example) and Israel needed aid and support. I supported that. But they are quickly loosing my support. In my eyes, what they are doing are acts of terrorism. At what point does defending yourself become an act of terror? It happens when your weapons are no longer used to defend your self and you start using them as offensive weapons without regard to who is being killed. That is exactly what the terrorists are doing.
As far as Bush and Blair are concerned, they are cut from exactly the same pastry. It makes me sick as they casually exchange warm words with each other as long-time friends, as people are dieing because of their actions. The U.S. and Britain have done more to destabilize the region than anyone else. I'm left thinking that there is a reason they want this to happen - somehow the U.S. will benefit from all of this. Perhaps it's an attempt to isolate Iran and Russia from international support. At any rate, they play a very dangerous game.
In my humble opinion, Bush isn't mad. He's just dumber than a door knob (in all honesty). The man is practically illiterate. When he doesn't follow a strict script, he can hardly form a complete sentence. Just look at some of the his quotes and you will see what I mean.
Britains also needs to realize that before they look at Americans in a bad way, they also elected Blair, and he's just like Bush. We American citizens are also stuck with Bush. He's turned out to be worse than I ever imagined.

people in the UK think that Bush is mad. Over here we have a saying as mad as a hatter ( people who made hats in the old days used Mercury and it made them mad.) When people hear of his latest speach over here they say oh god he's a mad as a hatter. Ok we can laugh but to my mind he is a seriously dangerous guy! UK and USA have always been the best of friends but now Bill I hear more and more British people slate the Americans. That annoys me because they are slating them because they feel that dear old Mr Bush is largly responsable for our involvement in the middle east. I don't actually buy that I think that dear old Tony is just as bad. I watched the news last night and saw the bombings in Lebanon and watched the old people being lifted out of the rubble! It is never right to bomb the elderly, families, children etc and our two governments look like they are still the only ones not calling for an end here. I thought governments were meant to represent the people. In the case of the USA and UK I really don't think this is the case!
