Out of sight, Out of Existence
A Fort Worth church continues to struggle with how to handle photographs of gay members in a pictorial directory that’s to be part of its 125th anniversary celebrations.
Broadway Baptist Church has debated whether the directory should include gay couples, or gay people individually but not as couples, or whether to omit all individual and family photos. (source)
They could consider gas chambers... worked for Hitler.
What they are suggesting by omitting photos of gay couples together, or any gays for that matter, is the same thing that Hitler was trying to achieve. That is, a cleansing of Jews, homosexuals, and other “deviants” from his Germany. What this church is trying to do is no different. Hitler killed people. This church is trying to make it look like people in their community don’t exist. That kills the human spirit. What’s the difference?
How very Christian of them.

Unfortunately, you took the words right out of my mouth: "They could consider gas chambers..." And yet if something similar was instigated against their group, they'd scream bloody murder. I am SO fucking tired of all the bullshit hypocrisy permeating society today. I often wonder if 2012 isn't the year we finally find that big planetary reset button and push it...
