Cost of Living

That's our last bill for heating oil. Most of the Northeast is heated by heating oil. And as you can see, at $3.39 per gallon, it adds up fast. And that covers about one month. Sucks huh?

And I heard yesterday that crude oil is now over $100 per barrel, which means that this will just keep getting worse. We are ok, but I worry about others who have two jobs, and still aren't making it. But, for what it's worth, the President of the United States says that there's really nothing going on, other than a "slow down". That's comforting.

If they think this isn't going to have a "ripple effect" through the economy.... they're stupid...

Natural gas (which we use to heat) isn't that far behind. Every month I cringe as I open the gas bill.

Thank god we got the woodstove this past fall - it's made a real dent in the amount of gas we use and eased the bills a bit.
